Novella Jafaroglu: Pardon disappointed
«The pardon has disappointed us, we did not expect it would be like this," said Novella Jafaroglu, the head of the Society for Women's Rights and a member of the Joint Working Group on Human Rights, commenting on the presidential decree on pardon. She condemned the absence of political prisoners in the list. "This is a blow to the community, and human rights defenders, and the biggest impact to the image of the Azerbaijani state and its head," said Jafaroglu.
However, she noted that human rights defenders continue efforts to release political prisoners.-05B-
