Rally in Prague in protection of Azerbaijani Political Prisoners
On October 14 in Prague at Peace Square, in front of the Church of St. Ludmila, a theatrical action was held in support of political prisoners in Azerbaijan.
As reported by Azadlig Radio, the action was organized by the People in Need.
The presentation reflected the recent political developments in Azerbaijan - increase in the number of political prisoners and repression against opponents of the government.
On the square a symbolic prison cell was set, hung with portraits of political prisoners and the flag of Azerbaijan.
In front of the cell they set stands and detailed information about political prisoners and their portraits.
During the event, the police were "arresting" protesting demonstrators and were “throwing them to jail.”
The participants, among them Human Rights Watch and a number of well-known German actors, demanded the release of more than 100 political prisoners in Azerbaijan. -16D-
