In the near future prices for meat and fruit, imported from Georgia, will increase. This is due to the fact that a bribe from every truck "Kamaz", bringing cattle, has been increased from seven to ten thousand dollars.
The size of bribes has raised this week. Each "Kamaz" contains s 30-35 head of cattle. Thus, for each animal in the average they demand $285-$300, Turan was told by entrepreneur importing cattle to Azerbaijan, and wished to remain anonymous.
For the "Kamaz" with fruits, the bribe for each car has increased from $6,000 to $8,000.
It is interesting, that people collecting bribes from entrepreneurs are members of a group called "Kurd Ali." According to the same source, the transition of the Georgian-Azerbaijani border for "Kamaz" drivers has no problems. But the problem begin at the territory of Azerbaijan, from Balakan to Gazakh regions, where drivers face people form "Kurd Ali."
Law enforcement agencies do not see the racketeers, and nobody punishes them. If someone complains, he is not allowed to import agricultural products; it testifies to a high patron of racketeers. Such a situation in criminal is impossible without the direct participation of high-ranking and influential individuals from the highest echelons of power, who have monopolized agricultural sector.
Entrepreneurs call this group the "Kurds", and noted that the increase in bribery automatically leads to higher prices for meat and fruit. In addition, on the eve of Ramadan, the Arab businessmen buy the cattle in Georgia and forward it to their countries by sea. It has caused a higher prices for live cattle in Georgia. Thus, the price increase is imminent. -03B04-
