Taxes Ministry Threatens to Punish Representatives of Show Business
If someone from the show business tries to evade the tax, as it happened before, full power of the law will be applied to them. This statement was made on December 23 by the main economic analysis and state registration of business entities department of the Ministry of Taxes.
The ministry published the names of 41 singers, including the group Sharon, who refuse to pay taxes, of which 23 are registered in Baku. The list does not include those representatives of show business, which partly fulfilled their tax obligations.
"By mid-January the next term of providing tax declarations comes. If taxes are not paid in full, then the due legal measures will be taken," the document notes.
Note that at the time when the state budget was replenished by oil revenues, the tax authorities did not use such rhetoric. Popular singers were awarded honorable names, and they took part in various politicized concerts. Following the decline in oil revenues, tax officials recalled the singers. ---08D
