Two years later, the Internet speed in Baku could reach 100 Mbit / s
A project of broadband Internet is starting.
Turan was told at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, in the first phase of the project this year, the State Oil Fund will allocate 103.6 million manat. The money will go to the preparatory work the other day.
The action of the project is for 2 years (2013-2015) and will cover the whole country, including the Nakhchivan autonomy. By the end of the term broadband Internet will cover the entire country, including the inaccessible mountainous outlying villages on the principle of "Fiber to the home."
Implementation of the project will expand the use of making "e-government" in the region, eliminate the digital divide between cities and villages, to improve the sector, will create favorable conditions for the development of business internet service providers.
As planned by the developers, the data rate by the end of the project is to be 100 Mbit / s in Baku and other cities and towns of the republic - 30 Mbit / s, in the towns and villages - 10 Mbit / s. - 17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
