Ali Hasanov confirmed that he gave the BBC incorrect information
Baku/11.07.18/Turan: Presidential aide for political and public affairs Ali Hasanov admitted that in an interview with BBC employee he described the attempt on the head of the executive power of Ganja city Elmar Veliyev as "a criminal event committed against the head of the executive branch, an armed attack", but it fact it was a "terrorist event".
Ali Hasanov noted that when answering the question from BBC News Azərbaycan in connection with the above-mentioned event on July 3, he proceeded from the primary information at that time. Last week he told BBC News Azərbaycan, "there is no reason for concern about the attack on Elmar Veliyev". The bodyguard was wounded. The talk is about ordinary criminal incident." He explained his statement by the desire to inform the public that the state controls what happened.
Mr. Hasanov noted that the law enforcement agencies subsequently disseminated information that the crime is a terror committed by Yunis Safarov, a citizen of a foreign country, he participated in unauthorized military operations in Azerbaijan. Ali Hasanov on his Facebook page criticized local and foreign media that disseminate untrue, bloated information.
He called on citizens, especially those who have the ability to influence public opinion, to be more sensitive. Mr. Hasanov reminded of the first terrorist attack in the State Oil Academy in the recent history, committed by a foreign citizen. However, this terrorist attack did not reach its goal.--0--
