First Azerbaijani Ascent of Lhotse
Baku / 22.05.19 / Turan: On May 22, at 6 am Nepal time, three climbers including Israfil Ashurly, Alexander Telnov and Zakra Larok made an ascent to one of the highest peaks of the world - Lhotse (8,516 meters).
Coming out at night from the assault camp at an altitude of 7,800 meters, the climbers reached the summit at 6 o'clock in the morning. By 10 o'clock the climbers returned to the assault camp, where they are currently resting. As expected, the climbers will return to the base camp (5,600 meters) tomorrow.
Note that this is the first climb of a mountaineer from Azerbaijan to this eight-thousander. Until now, Israfil Ashurly has conquered the highest peak of the world - Everest (8,848 m) and Kanchenjunga (8,586 m).
