Allowed to visit his home for a day, the head of the Talysh Cultural Center, human rights activist Hilal Mamedov returned to Prison No 17.
His brother Sabahaddin Mamedov said Hilal was allowed to attend the wedding of his daughter. At the same time representatives of the Prison Service were in the foyer of the House of Celebrations during the wedding party.
* Hilal Mamedov was arrested on June 21, 2012. The Baku Court of Grave Crimes on September 27, 2013 sentenced him to 5 years in prison after he was convicted for treason, inciting ethnic hatred and drug trafficking.
Mamedov is internationally recognized as political prisoner. -06D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
