The tent camp in the Dagestan village of Kullar is closed
Baku / 02.11.20 / Turan: In the Dagestan village of Kullar, a tent camp for Azerbaijani citizens awaiting their return to their homeland has been closed.
Because of the cold weather, the inhabitants of the tent camp were transferred to boarding houses in Dagestan. Turan learned about this from informed sources. In particular, 299 people are accommodated in these institutions.
In total, 1197 people are registered in Dagestan who want to return from Russia to Azerbaijan. The rest stay with friends, relatives or rent apartments.
Because of special quarantine regime, Azerbaijan closed its land borders with neighboring countries. After that, the citizens of Azerbaijan began to gather in Dagestan since April.
At first, a pass was introduced for them once a month, then twice a month. Since the end of June, passes have been weekly. However, after the outbreak of hostilities on September 27, the passage of citizens was suspended. Only two weeks ago, a group of 210 people, consisting mainly of women and children, was missed.
On October 31, the Acting Head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov visited the Situation Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Dagestan, where he was informed about the situation in the temporary accommodation center in the village of Kullar, Derbent region.
The issues of their transfer from the tent camp to a stationary temporary accommodation point in connection with the onset of cold weather were discussed in detail, RIA reports. -06В-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
