The climbers have been found. Whom to thank?

A special group of search engines, formed from employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, found them in a tent on the slope of Tfan Mountain, Guba region, at an altitude of more than 2500 meters. The bodies of the dead children have already been delivered to the capital and buried. It is noteworthy that the results of the examination have not yet been announced, which should give us answers to the question: why and under what conditions did the climbers die? They were covered by an avalanche or they died from cold and hunger, simply losing their way. And if only the guys died as a result of the second option, it means that they simply could not, did not manage to come to the rescue.

The search of climbers began on December 27 last year after they stopped communicating. However, the search was unsuccessful, despite the fact that, according to official structures, the best forces and equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Agency for Clearing Mine Action Territories and even foreign specialists were involved. Then volunteers joined the search - mostly friends and acquaintances of the disappeared guys, same semi-professionals as they are.

The days passed, but there were no results. The situation aggravated due to bad weather conditions, it was not known if the climbers were alive or dead. And mutual accusations began. The volunteers accused the official structures involved in the search, and the structures accused each other of lack of proper technique, lack of organization and diligence. In particular, the volunteers accused the head of the Guba Regional Department of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of interfering with their work: "He does not want anybody to find the missing, and besides, he drags out searches in order to appropriate more money," stated members of the mountaineering club "Gilavar". No matter how it was, the lack of results spoke for itself.

In Russia, search for disappeared climbers is conducted by special high-altitude search and rescue teams of the Ministry of Emergencies. And I must say, they do their job pretty well. For example, in January of this year Russian rescuers found the missing Belarusians on Elbrus alive and just in two days. It is interesting that the Azerbaijani search squads were looking for the missing children in the right direction, but they could not find it. Only now it became clear - they were resting under a four-meter layer of snow. However, this is not the limit for modern special equipment, it had to find them under the rubble. If the guys were still alive, they should have been found to react to heat, but if they were covered by an avalanche, as the official authorities claimed, then a special avalanche technique should have been used. In fact, climbers began to search with the help of a special device "RECCO" only on February 2. This device brought with them members of the voluntary search group. This device helps to find mobile devices, even if they are completely discharged by capturing the signal from the sim chip number. However, then searches were conducted in the wrong direction, and there, for some reason, it was not used for some reason. According to the same volunteers who participated in the search, only long iron sticks and drones were involved in the search for all the equipment, which in these conditions proved useless. The Mi-17 helicopter was also involved in the search, but it turned out to be out of order due to its size, since more maneuverable flying equipment is needed in mountain gorges.

Of course, in such conditions there was nothing left to do except wait for the coming of spring and the melting snow. In some resources, even such statements were made that became prophetic. The May sun melted the snow, the searches eased and the climbers, who had disappeared almost five months ago, were finally found. According to official information, they were found by the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Measures: first a tent with one of the bodies was found, and nearby two more bodies. Well, the search task is completed, they can report victoriously about the successful completion of the operation. However, one thing remains unclear- who is to be thanked for this - the structures that worked without result for months or the hot Azerbaijani sun?
