Moscow Not to Be Held Responsible for Cars Traveling in Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan
Prepared and signed on these days will be the bilateral agreement between Azerbaijan and Russia in the framework of the Green Card system, the Executive Director of the Compulsory Insurance Bureau in Azerbaijan (CIB) Elkhan Guliyev told the media at the VII International Insurance Forum in Baku.
According to him, the negotiations were difficult and problematic - for the last six months the Russian side was a supporter of the policy (insurance contracts) under the CTP, valid in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. Now the question is resolved within the territorial integrity of our country and after the withdrawal of the occupation troops Russian insurers will again be able to issue full-scale civil liability policies to motorists - the citizens of this country.
Speaking about the effectiveness of the Green Card, involved in Azerbaijan from January 1, 2016, he reported that as of June 1, there were 1,444 insurance contracts in the amount of 224,000 manats.
The international motor insurance Green Card system has been operating since 1951 and its main goal is the settlement of claims of road accident victims, with the participation of foreign motorists, in accordance with national legislation of the country, in which the insured event occurred.
The Green Card system includes 48 countries: the whole of Europe, including Russia, as well as Israel, Morocco, Tunisia and Iran.
In Azerbaijan, the national office of the international Green Card system is Compulsory Insurance Bureau (CIB), which includes 16 local insurance companies - 13 of them have the right to sell insurance policies CTP and are connected to the Green Card system. --17D-
