Baku/28.01.19/Turan: In Azerbaijan, about 1 million 200 thousand different cars are used. If the average owner of each car changes wheel tires to new ones every three years, then 1 million 600 thousand used tires are thrown away annually in the country (one car - four tires). Over the years of independence, about 40 million automobile tires have accumulated in the landfills of the country (280 thousand tons - one tire for a car weighs 6.2 kg) - an incredible load for the environment. In February and June 2018, black smoke from burning tires covered part of the sky over Baku, and soot settled in the streets and on people. From the burning of tires toxic substances are emitted into the atmosphere.

The first hope for a solution to this problem is given by the information in Turan that the company Brioil LLC, which is going to produce biodiesel from old tires, will work in the Balakhani industrial park. However, data on the amount of investment (3 million manat) and the number of personnel (20 people) indicate that the new enterprise will be small and all the tires accumulated in the country cannot be disposed of.

Car tire recycling and car rubber recycling does not leave behind waste, and you can get rubber crumb for various gaskets and seals, soles for shoes, rubber mats, rubber roofs, seamless coatings, asphalt additives, various fillers (punching bags) and many other purposes. 600 pounds of synthetic fuel can be obtained from 1 ton of automobile tires, and 350 liters of gasoline with an increased octane number can be produced from this product. Metal cord can be reused for the manufacture of tires, or just as scrap metal. Among the products obtained are also carbon black (pyrolysis), used as a dye for concrete, automobile tires, as a moderator for the "aging" of plastic products, in the military industry, and for many other purposes.

Combustible gas goes to the work of equipment that recycles tires.

The price of a mini-plant for processing tires costs about $ 30,000 - cheaper than some elite cars that are popular in Azerbaijan.

Why, then, with such insignificant costs for the creation of an enterprise and promising revenues, Azerbaijan will be not the first, but the second state in the Caucasus with its tire recycling industry? The question is to the Ministry of Economy and the Government, who are concerned about the relief of bureaucratic red tape for businessmen after the economic indicators of the country have fallen lower than those of our neighbors. In the meantime, we will inform you that the first mini-enterprise of tire recycling was built in Armenia by two businessmen in 2016. They buy old tires at a price of 10 cents, and produce fuel oil and diesel fuel. The production of the latter does not pay off, and fuel oil is in demand from owners of canneries and paper processing companies. The by-product is carbon black. Annually, old tires weighing 18 thousand tons are thrown out in Armenia.

About 280 thousand tons of old rubber tires have been accumulated in Azerbaijan, which pollute nature, occupy land areas and do not bring benefits. One plant in Balakhani cannot recycle all this mass, especially since tire dumps are located throughout the country, and the second largest city in Azerbaijan, Ganja, is 362 km away from the capital. Transportation of tires in a truck from distant areas to Balakhani will cost the businessman less than 200 manat, and you still have to pay tire loaders and collectors. Consequently, it is profitable to build enterprises for processing used automotive rubber also in Ganja, Mingachevir and Nakhchivan, and possibly one each in the Gadabay-Agstafa, Sheki-Balakan and Lankaran-Astara regions of the country.

The production technology of fuel from old tires is simple: tires are brought to the warehouse, where they are inspected for the presence of discs, rims, seat rings, etc. Then they are sent to the primary stage of processing - cutting into ribbons about 5 cm wide, after that - into short pieces. Then the material enters the reactor bunker, where at a temperature of about 450 ° C products are produced. Metal cord is collected either by sifting through a fine sieve, or by means of an electromagnet. A 24-hour line operating 24 hours a day is capable of taking 5 tons of tires, of which the output is: synthetic fuel - 2 tons, carbon black - 1.5 tons, metal cord - 500 kg, and gas - 1 ton. If, on the other hand, rubber crumb is produced, then from one ton of raw material the crumb yield will be 700 kg. Based on these data, it is clear that from processing 1,000 tons of tires Azerbaijani businessmen can receive 400 tons of synthetic fuel alone, which is of particular relevance in light of the fall in oil production in the country. -0-
