The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan presented a note to the Ambassador of Kazakhstan
Baku/05.02.20/Turan: The ambassador of Kazakhstan to Baku, Serzhan Abdykarimov, was invited to the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov gave him a note in connection with the use of weapons by the border guards of this country against Azerbaijani fishermen, press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
The deputy minister expressed serious concern of the Azerbaijani side that on April 30, 2020, in the Caspian Sea, officers of the coastal guard of Kazakhstan used weapon at the detention of the citizens of Azerbaijan G. Ibrahimov, E. Nuriyev, E. Ahmedov and Sh. Novruzov. As a result, one of them was killed and two were injured. The ambassador was awarded the corresponding note by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
According to Khalafov, the death of a person due to the use of firearms does not correspond to the mechanism of cooperation between the border services of the two countries, the spirit of friendship and fraternity between the two states.
Khalafov asked in accordance with the “allied and strategic relations between the two states” to conduct a comprehensive and objective investigation of this fact and inform the Azerbaijani side about the results.
Ambassador Abdykarimov, in turn, expressed deep regret over the death of the person during the incident, expressed condolences to the relatives of the deceased and expressed hope for a speedy recovery of the wounded. He noted that he would convey to his country a note and serious concern of the Azerbaijani side.
Further, the ambassador noted that the embassy would provide the necessary assistance to deliver the body of a deceased citizen of Azerbaijan to their homeland. —06D-
