Police blocks the journalists for taking images of the presidential cake
Today the photographers of Turan news agency and "Azadlig" radio station were not allowed to fulfill their professional duties in Sumgait at the presentation of a
51-meter cake in honor of the president Ilham Aliyev.
To take the images of the cake the journalists were to get a special verbal permission. Initially, this permission was given by the head of the public policy department of the executive branch of the city, Seyfadin Rahimov.
However, some time later, the same officer banned the shooting.
"You represent everything in a bad light, so you do not have to take off here," he said, suggesting the police to remove journalists from the scene.
The authorities are not happy with the photos and video, where people gather around the cake pushing each other or swearing. They also do not like the comments that leave the readers of the Internet regarding this initiative of the Mayor of Sumgait, Eldar Azizova. -22/B-
