Vidadi Zeynalov Requires to Subpoena Ali Abbasov
In the course of the trial on the ‘case of signalers’ the former head of the Ministry of Communications administration Vidadi Zeynalov refused to testify. He said that he refused to testify until the court will interrogate the former minister Ali Abbasov.
During the meeting it became clear that a number of witnesses failed to appear in court. The judge decided to drive them forcibly and scheduled the next hearing on 8 February.
In the process, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes considered the case of 11 former senior officials of the Ministry of Communications and its subsidiaries.
In the dock are the former heads of the administration of the Ministry, Aztelecom LLC, Baku Telephone Communication, AzInTelecom LLC, Azerpocht, Optic Rabita, and other structures.
According to the investigation, Vidadi Zeynalov forged documents and misappropriated AZN 73.590 million with the participation of the other defendants. The money was embezzled by fraud and forged data. In addition, 11 former employees of the Ministry of Communications are accused of embezzling 40 million manat. -16d06-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
