Another Book by Jamil Hasanli Published in Russia
Baku / 24.04.20 / Turan: “Soviet Azerbaijan: From the Thaw to Frost (1959–1969)” is the name of the book by the famous historian and public figure Jamil Hasanli, published in Moscow by Rosspan Publishing House this year.
The publisher’s review says: “The book presented to the reader’s opinion is the result of scientific research conducted by Professor Jamil Hasanli for many years. It serves as a continuation of the monograph “Khrushchev's Thaw and the National Question in Azerbaijan, 1954-1959” and covers issues such as the formation of the political leadership of Azerbaijan in the 1960s, changes in the socio-political and cultural life of the republic, ridding society of the heritage of Stalin’s cult of personality, new trends in literature and art, processes that took place in creative unions, and much more. It is in this context that the book reflects the events of the decade when Veli Akhundov, Mammad Iskenderov and Enver Alikhanov were at the head of the republic.
In preparing the monograph, the author made extensive use of the funds of various state, party, and government archives of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Russian Federation. Rare archival materials first introduced into scientific circulation give the research resistance to criticism, and the author's conclusions and ideas cause credibility.
The book is intended for specialists in the history, culture and literature of Azerbaijan, students of humanitarian universities, as well as a wide range of readers who are interested in the history of our recent past.” -02D-
