Narimanov municipality "slows" nomination of R.Ibragimbekov
The Municipal Council of the Narimanov district of Baku refuses to put a stamp on the minutes of the meeting of the initiative group of voters to nominate a candidate for president, the chairman of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF), screenwriter Rustam Ibragimbekov.
Recall that the meeting of the initiative group of voters for Ibragimbekov to nominate a presidential candidate in the upcoming Oct. 9 presidential elections in Azerbaijan was held on 12 August.
According to the instructions of the Central Election Commission (CEC), the minutes of the meeting of the initiative group of voters should be sealed by the district council, in whose territory the meeting took place.
However, as stated by the press service of the NCDF, before the meeting of a group of voters on August 12, the organizers of the meeting informed the municipal council of the Narimanov District. However, representatives of the municipal council did not attend the meeting.
August 16 after the preparation of all documents required to be submitted to the CEC for approval of a presidential candidate, the chairman of the meeting of the initiative group Elman Mammadzadeh together with the secretary of the meeting held on 12 August, Hasan Hasanly and a member of the group Faig Rzayev headed to the municipal council for approval of the protocol.
However, representatives of the municipal council refused to put a stamp on the protocol and did not receive a formal appeal of the initiative group. They explained this with absence of the head of the municipal council Tamraz Tagiyev at the workplace. When he was contacted by telephone, Tagiyev said he had to leave until October 15 and the seal of the municipal council was with him.
After a long dispute, one representative of the municipality tore the appeal of the initiative group and threw it into the trash. -06D -
