For 10 days, entry to Baku and Absheron for residents and transport from the regions is prohibited
Baku/17.03.20/Turan: From 00:00 on March 19 to the 29th, entry into Baku, Sumgayit of vehicles registered in the regions, as well as their passengers, is prohibited. This measure is being introduced as part of the steps to prevent coronavirus, according to the report of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers.
This restriction does not apply to special vehicles, including ambulances, emergency rescue vehicles and trucks.
Passenger vehicles (buses, minibuses, taxis, etc.) registered in Baku, Sumgait and Absheron regions are prohibited from transporting passengers from other cities and regions of the country to Baku, Sumgait and Absheron.
Vehicles and their passengers registered in Baku, Sumgait and Absheron regions are allowed to enter. At the same time, these funds should not carry passengers from the regions to the capital, Sumgait and the Absheron region.
Residents of Baku, Sumgayit, as well as the Absheron region are asked to refrain from traveling to and from the regions.
During this period, the transportation of passengers from the regions and back by rail, as well as from airports in the country to Baku, is suspended.
Freight traffic associated with trade, food and other consumer goods is not prohibited.
Violators of these rules will be subjected to sanctions under the law; the Operational Headquarters reads the statement. -02D-

Activist Nijat Ibrahim, who was detained in Baku pre-trial detention center-1, inflicted numerous wounds on himself on November 20 in protest against unjustified criminal prosecution, his wife Parvin Ibrahim told Turan. According to her, on November 21, her husband called her and informed her that the day before he had inflicted incised wounds on himself with a piece of mirror. In particular, he cut his throat and ears.
