SOCAR put into operation new training rescue swimming pool
Yesterday SOCAR put into operation the swimming pool for the training rescue operations in Training Centre for Protection of Human Life in Sea in Baku.
The Centre is owned by SOCAR’s Department for Education, Training and Certification.
SOCAR’s President Rovnag Abdullayev, Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov and SOCAR’s high-ranking officials took part at the ceremony of putting of the swimming pool into operation.
The length of the new pool is 50 meters, the width is 21 meters, the depth of the water is between 1.5 to 4 meters. Various equipment imitating rescue operations has been installed in the pool.
Over 20,000 people a year could be trained in the Centre, of whom 10,000-12,000 ones are SOCAR’s employees and the remaining ones are employees of BP and other companies as well as specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
