Crane Operator Killed on Offshore Platform
An accident took place on Guneshli field platform No 7, killing a crane operator Elshan Sakhavat Oglu Mammadov.
According to SOCAR, the incident occurred on November 20 at 22:30. Mounted on the platform in 2015, a 28-ton crane HAK-300 was receiving pipes from the Nefttgaz-63 vessel. At this point, the crane broke from the welding part and fell onto the dock, and then onto the ship. The collapsed part of the crane fell into the sea. The crane operator of the drilling company Absheron Elshan Mammadov born in 1991 received a head injury and died.
The relevant state agencies are informed about the accident, and a representative of the manufacturer (Hidroaktif Hidrolik Vinc Is Makinalari Imalat Ihracat Ithalat San. Tic. Ltd.) was invited to the scene and a joint commission was set up. More information will be given about the results of the investigation. -06D--
