Authorities have not allowed feminist march
Baku/07.03.23/Turan: Baku authorities responded to an appeal by a group of feminists to hold a march from McDonald's cafe on Fountain Square to the Natavan monument on 8 March from 3 pm to 4 pm.
The city administration justified the refusal on the grounds that the proposed route is located in a crowded area; is used by citizens and visitors to the capital and there are numerous catering and service facilities there. In this regard, the authorities considered the action inadvisable.
Nevertheless, the organisers consider the authorities' arguments unfounded and intend to hold a protest rally. The march will be held under the slogan "March 8 - We Want to Live!" to protest against gender-based violence and femicide. -06В-
