Who Canceled Identity Card of Human Rights Defender?
Baku / 05/31/17 / Turan: A known activist of civil society and human rights Samira Agayeva has been revoked an identity card. She accidentally found out about this and intends to inquire for explanations to Interior Minister Ramil Usubov.
As reported by Agayeva to Turan, she learned about this when the notary checked the details of her identity card and found out that there is not such a document in the system. She was advised to contact the police.
Agayeva stressed that there was no reason to revoke the identity card. Usually this happens when the marital status changes, the document expires, according to the person"s age, or it is lost.
However, Agayeva received a new certificate only in August 2016. She was not subjected to criminal or administrative harassment, involved as a suspect, or an accused person, or a witness.
On June 2, Agayeva was supposed to go to Georgia for training, but now she admits that what is happening is not an accident, and when she passes the border, she can expect "surprises" with her passport.
Agayeva was previously subjected to pressure. She is the deputy chairman of the civil movement D18. As a professional lawyer, she protects the rights of citizens in the courts and other bodies in civil cases. -06B-
