Arakchi on Iran's initiative on Karabakh
Baku/28.10.20/Turan: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi is having consultations in Baku to discuss the plan for the settlement of the Karabakh conflict developed by Iran.
"Putting an end to the occupation of Azerbaijani lands, protecting the rights of minorities and human rights are the main factors of Iran's plan," the Iranian diplomat said, adding that the plan could be implemented in stages, the IRNA agency reported.
He called the cessation of hostilities and the beginning of negotiations with the participation of influential countries another part of the Iranian plan, noting that Tehran intends to have consultations with regional countries regarding this plan.
Arakchi described Iran and Azerbaijan as two friendly countries, adding that Tehran supports Baku's efforts to liberate its occupied lands and cities.
"The territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and other countries and the invariability of borders are an undeniable issue," he stressed.
According to IRNA, Arakchi will hold meetings and consultations with Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Azerbaijani Presidential Aide Hikmet Hajiyev.
After Baku, Arakchi will visit Moscow, Yerevan and Ankara, where he will present the Iranian initiative to resolve the Karabakh conflict. -02D-
