Nana Particles Strike at Cancer
Holding a study of the genomes of cancer cells (to determine their primary amino acid or nucleotide sequence), scientists have discovered a huge number of vital genes undergoing mutations, deleted, or copied.
According to the portal "Open Systems" (page http://www.osp.ru/news/2012/0817/13014301), it is literally a treasure trove for researchers seeking new targets for drugs, but a quick check them all is almost impossible. Rapid method for screening genes suggested researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology: they developed Nana particle can deliver small RNA molecules to genes and "turn off" them - to suppress expression by RNA interference.
The first target, which the researchers decided to test their nana particles become ID4 gene in ovarian tumors. As a result of such treatment nana particles mice most tumors they disappeared.
RNA interference is considered as a potential basis for cancer treatment since the time of its discovery in the late 90's, but a safe and reliable method of delivery of small RNA molecules in the tumor still not been found.
Among potential new targets for drugs there are many proteins that were previously considered immune to their effects. - 17D-

As of January 1, Europe has ceased contract-based transit of Russian gas through Ukraine. Kyiv announced it would not renew agreements to traffic gas from the "aggressor nation" through its territory. The decision marks a pivotal moment in Europe’s efforts to reduce reliance on Russian energy, a dependency that supplied nearly 50% of the continent’s gas imports before the war in Ukraine.
